When Gordon MacDonald was nominated by Gov. Chris Sununu as the state’s attorney general in April 2017, he sailed through the Executive Council confirmation process and was approved by a unanimous 5-0 vote.

At that time, Republicans held 3-2 majority and the two Democrats, Andru Volinsky and current U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas, joined in supporting him.
