The governor signed a solar net metering bill into law last week, but not the one Dover officials hoped.
Senate Bill 165 is designed to help reduce low-income residents’ energy costs. Gov. Chris Sununu called the bill “commonsense legislation” for residents at a time in which rising electricity costs and sustainability are a focus for many.
“I have long fought for low-income Granite Staters to receive the benefit of solar development across our state and am proud to sign Senate Bill 165 into law,” Sununu wrote in a statement. “It is only logical that we put the interest of Granite Staters struggling to pay the bills each month above the interest of developers.”
