Newly elected Democratic state Sens. Dr. Tom Sherman and Jon Morgan say they’d like to see a shift in priorities for New Hampshire in the state’s upcoming two-year budget.
Sherman, a Rye resident and gastroenterologist at Exeter Hospital, said he’s pushing for “a shift in priorities so that we are really fully addressing the opioid crisis and the mental health crisis.”
The new chair of the state Senate Health and Human Services Committee emphasized that when the state’s 10-year mental health plan is released, it needs to be fully funded.
