Senate Democrats offer spending priorities for $1.25B from feds

Democratic state senators would use part of the state’s $1.25 billion CARES Act federal grant to enhance unemployment benefits, provide hazard pay for front-line workers and help cash-strapped residents pay their property taxes.
Those provisions were part of the plan the lawmakers put forward Monday for how to apportion the COVID-19 relief grant.
