A federal health official said it’s “still possible” a health study on people exposed to PFAS chemicals at the former Pease Air Force Base could start this August.

Dr. Frank Bove, the senior epidemiologist for the Agency For Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, said his agency already received “close to 100” comments from the Office of Management and Budget on the proposed health study.

He told members of the Pease Community Assistance Panel (CAP) that he thinks the study could start in August as long as the agency doesn’t get “another round” of comments they have to address.
