A Dartmouth College junior told state legislators Thursday that prior to the November 2018 midterm elections, students received anonymous mailers warning that under two new state voting laws, they were no longer allowed to vote in New Hampshire.

“I cannot stress enough the amount of times that I heard, ‘Didn’t they just make it illegal for students to vote here?’ or some variation of that, indicating that either of these (laws) flat out took that right away from them or that there were now barriers to such an extent that they wouldn’t even bother voting,” Michael Parsons told the New Hampshire House Election Law Committee.
