Sometimes it takes a lot to break the tedium of post-session State House life. Sometimes it takes a chicken.

“E. Maude Chickenson” was taken in by legislative staffers Wednesday after Department of Administrative Services employees found it abandoned on the State House lawn. The rooster, likely a New Hampshire Red – the state’s official poultry – was found left alone with a bag of food outside the building doors, according to Senate staff.
