The New Hampshire State Senate looked ready to make history and repeal the state’s death penalty Thursday but on the eve of the vote two-term Gov. Chris Sununu was not giving up without a fight.
As he did with Republican members of the New Hampshire House of Representatives Sununu was making his final appeals privately to the five GOP members who supported the death penalty repeal bill last month.
