Lawmakers in Concord are debating a bill that would prohibit public schools from starting classes before Labor Day.

State Sen. Martha Fuller Clark, D-Portsmouth, is sponsoring Senate Bill 65, which would force all Granite State public schools to start their academic years after Labor Day in an effort to get everyone on the same page.
