Town officials are looking to shut down a portion of Ocean Boulevard to vehicle traffic and cut the available parking at Hampton Beach in half as beach businesses prepare to reopen.

Hampton Police Chief Richard Sawyer said the town will make both recommendations to the governor’s economic reopening task to curb the volume of traffic at the beach and to accommodate social distancing and outside dining at restaurants.
