New Hampshire lawmakers are speaking out on the floors of the U.S. House and Senate about the effects that the ongoing government shutdown are having on Granite Staters.
Democratic U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen said the shutdown is hurting air traffic controllers and their families. She said President Donald Trump seems to be the only person who doesn’t want the shutdown to end.
“I urge President Trump, Majority Leader (Mitch) McConnell and our Republican colleagues to take up these bills to reopen the government,” Shaheen said. “I believe we should reopen the government. Let’s do our jobs so that the rest of America can do theirs.”
