A legislative committee met Thursday to address apparent holes in the continuing resolution the Legislature passed in lieu of a state budget, which Gov. Chris Sununu wisely vetoed.
A continuing resolution has made sense, provided that the parties at loggerheads are sincerely and speedily attempting to reach agreement on a new two-year budget.
Clearly, based on the games played by Democrats on the committee on Thursday, their sincerity is lacking. Holes in the CR are showing up and there will be more, no doubt. If a new agreement isn’t in the offing, the Legislature ought to take up the governor’s veto.
