Letter: Thanks for infant program

I want to thank Governor Sununu for his new Infants in the Workplace program. As a former state employee, this program would have been a big help to me when I had my daughter several years ago.
Like many families, the cost of childcare was brutal on my family. At the same time, I struggled from postpartum depression and found the isolation and lack of adult interaction to be a contributing factor. I was deeply conflicted between wanting to spend as much time nurturing my child and my desire to rejoin my professional community, while also juggling the problem of child-care costs. I know that every family is different but the perfect solution in my case would have been the ability to bring my daughter to work with me a few days a week.
