The ongoing fight over voting rights in New Hampshire has resulted in the veto of a bill regarding the state’s centralized voter registration database.
Democrats want access to parts of the database to bolster their lawsuit challenging a law that requires additional documentation from voters who register within 30 days of an election. Republicans last year passed a bill forbidding the release of the database under those conditions. Democrats who took control of the Legislature this year followed up with a bill that specifically allows it, but Republican Gov. Chris Sununu vetoed it this week.
