Sununu signs bill responding to sales tax ruling

New Hampshire has passed legislation fighting back against a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that cleared the way for other states to collect sales tax from the state’s businesses.
The so-called Wayfair ruling effectively ending the requirement that a company have a “physical presence” in a state in order to collect sales taxes there. Republican Gov. Chris Sununu called for a special session last summer to respond with legislation, but it failed to pass the House. Another bill passed this session, and Sununu signed it Friday.
