Amidst a firestorm making national news surrounding a local classroom assignment that turned into a Ku Klux Klan jingle, Gov. Chris Sununu’s office has confirmed his proposed budget, set to be presented Thursday, includes funding for diversity and cultural competency training in public schools.
Continuing a demonstrated commitment to equity efforts in the Granite State, Sununu’s budget will also increase funding for the Human Rights Commission, clearing a backlog of cases, and assistance for the state Advisory Council on Diversity and Inclusion with operating expenses for public listening sessions.
