A state trooper accused by a defense attorney of lying on a sworn affidavit to justify an arrest remains on “working duty” status, Col. Christopher Wagner said Tuesday, while promising that his agency thoroughly investigates all accusations of ethical lapses.
Wagner declined to discuss in more detail the case involving Trooper Francisco Vicente, citing departmental rules about ongoing investigations. But he said that the state police has a culture of integrity and a special unit that coordinates with the attorney general’s public integrity unit to investigate accusations of criminal or ethical violations against its employees.
