By a narrow margin, the state Board of Education approved a controversial program Thursday that would allow students to receive school credit in off-campus extracurricular activities such as internships.
Critics of the bill said the Learn Everywhere program has merit, but they said that it could lead to unintended consequences, as well. The program allows students to earn up to one-third of their graduation credits outside a classroom.
