Future New Hampshire governors would face stricter campaign finance rules when it comes to their inaugural committees under a bill passed by the state Senate.
The bill comes in response to reports that family members and close political allies of Republican Gov. Chris Sununu have been paid about $165,000 from his inaugural committee. The governor’s office has said the payments were for things related to the inauguration or operating the office.
