The auditorium at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital was filled with interested parties seeking to learn more about the new program called The Doorway-NH that opened Jan. 2 to help stem the tide against opioid and other substance abuse in the state.
Nine Doorway locations, including one located across the street from WDH, are designed to be the hubs to assist those seeking help by directing them to the spokes to support them on the paths of recovery. The spokes include primary medical care, mental health and substance abuse treatment, housing, peer recovery services and social services, among others.
