The New Hampshire Division of Historical Resources says 11 properties including one-room schoolhouses, libraries, and a blacksmith shop have been added to the state Register of Historic Places.
A one-room brick schoolhouse in Mason built in 1821 was used until 1914. It was later used as a studio by Elizabeth Orton Jones, who illustrated Little Golden Book’s “Little Red Riding Hood.” And a one-room East Hebron Schoolhouse from 1888 still has its wood floors, wainscoting, slate chalkboards and woodstove.
