Push underway to build new secure psychiatric facility

Psychiatric patients who have never been convicted of a crime are being housed in the state prison in Concord, but there is an effort underway to change that.
News 9 has learned that Gov. Chris Sununu will pitch spending $40 million to build a new psychiatric hospital facility to move patients out of the Secure Psychiatric Unit at the state prison. Sununu plans to announce the plan in his budget address Thursday.
