Proposed Roe v. Wade codification attracts swell of opposition in State House

A proposed constitutional amendment to protect abortion access in New Hampshire drew strong opposition at the State House on Wednesday, with hundreds of anti-abortion activists pouring in to object.

Introduced by Rep. Timothy Smith, the measure would add an amendment that would prevent the government from interfering in reproductive health decisions. The hearing Wednesday – on the 47th anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s Roe vs. Wade ruling – was held in Representatives Hall because it drew so many people.
