NH senators defend bail reforms after sharp critique from Manchester chief

Four state senators issued statements on Thursday in support of New Hampshire bail reform, which has been under high-profile criticism over the past month by Manchester police and city officials.
The two Democrats and two Republicans portrayed bail reform — which passed by large majorities in both the House and Senate and was signed into law by Gov. Chris Sununu last year — as cost-effective, safe and constitutional.
