NH House committee considers ‘red flag’ gun control bill

A bill that supporters say would prevent gun violence, particularly suicide, was debated Tuesday before a House committee in Concord.

The “red flag” bill would establish extreme-risk protective orders, which would allow family members, intimate partners and law enforcement officials to petition a court to take a person’s guns if that person is shown to be an immediate and serious threat to themselves and others.
