State legislators are demanding to know why the attorney general rejected Exeter Hospital’s plan to merge with Wentworth-Douglass and Massachusetts General hospitals, arguing the public has a right to know his reasoning.
In a Jan. 2 Right-To-Know request letter to the AG’s Charitable Trust Unit, state lawmakers ask CTU Director Tom Donovan to explain the ruling that the merger violated anti-trust laws and would decrease health care competition on the Seacoast.
The letter was penned by state Sen. Jon Morgan, D-Brentwood, and signed by Sen. David Watters, D-Dover, and Reps. Julie Gilman, Lisa Bunker and Gaby Grossman, all Democrats from Exeter.
