Keene State College could get a $9 million boost under Gov. Chris Sununu’s proposed budget, which seeks to address the state’s workforce needs.
“Keene State College is delighted that Governor Sununu is supporting funding in the amount of $9 million to take action on pressing workforce and public health needs in southwestern New Hampshire,” said Kelly Ricaurte, Keene State’s director of strategic communications and community relations.
Sununu is proposing a one-time $24 million investment in the state’s public college system. Sununu wants the money to help develop employment training programs, to strengthen science, math, and technology education, and to address the public health needs of the state’s workforce.
