On May Day, the fourth grade of the Christa McAuliffe School marched down the street from their school to the State House to sing “Count on Me” on the granite steps in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month.
The focus of the launch event was on children’s mental health. The children wore green T-shirts that read that one in five children suffers from a mental illness.
“I told them they were representing all the children in the state and that it was quite an honor,” said Eileen Guzman, music teacher, who accompanied them.
