The state House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on a bill Thursday that would add two new representatives to the Pease Development Authority’s board of directors, including one from Greenland.
HB 243 is sponsored by state Sens. Martha Fuller Clark, D-Portsmouth, and Tom Sherman, D-Rye, and state Reps. Dennis Malloy, D-Greenland, and Tamara Le, D-North Hampton.
The bill comes in the wake of concerns raised by Greenland residents and town officials about how continued development at Pease International Tradeport is causing increased traffic congestion on Route 33.
The bill initially called for just adding a Greenland representative to the PDA board, but was amended to add a ninth member at a House Public Works and Highways Committee hearing when PDA Executive Director David Mullen said eight members could result in tie votes.
