Gov. Chris Sununu said the state of New Hampshire needed to “challenge itself to build a system that can evolve” as the state continues to examine innovative ways to solve the opiate crisis while poising itself to be proactive in preventing future substance abuse epidemics.
Sununu was speaking at Exeter High School Tuesday night to kick off a series of forums hosted by the seven Seacoast-area Rotary Clubs titled “Recovery with Hope and Dignity” to educate individuals about the state’s new hub and spoke system as a means of caring for people suffering with substance use disorders and to promote ending the stigmatization of addiction. The forum also featured several substance abuse advocates from different organizations who will be on the front lines of the hub and spoke’s community-based networks for recovery.
