A bill to ban firearms in safe school zones, HB 564, passed after a lengthy debate in the House on Wednesday, in a 194-154 roll-call.
The vote came after a heated debate that led to a censure vote against one representative who was forced to make a formal apology.
The House voted 225-104 to sanction Rep. John Burt, R-Goffstown, for “disorderly speech” in the debate. In a rare move, Burt was forced to make formal apology in front of House, which he did willingly.
