The ongoing political battle between Republican Gov. Chris Sununu and some of New Hampshire’s top Democrats over the possibility that the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard could lose $200 million in federal funds could be a preview of the fireworks ahead if Sununu eventually decides to challenge U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen in 2020.
Seacoast area state Sens. Martha Fuller Clark, David Watters, Tom Sherman, and Jon Morgan on Monday joined state Senate Majority Leader Dan Feltes in sending a letter to the governor urging him to direct New Hampshire’s attorney general to join the 16-state lawsuit challenging President Donald Trump’s emergency declaration.
