Aug. 28 is the anniversary of one of the most important and famous speeches in American history. That date in 1963 is when Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech.
King spoke of freedom and “the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence,” which guaranteed “the unalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”
