Like Governor Sununu, I am sickened by the New Hampshire legislature rejecting $46 million in funds for public charter schools. It is very clear that the political influence of the teacher’s unions is dictating decisions in Concord and not what is best for students.
It makes me wonder, do these union leaders and legislators care about kids like my son? Two years ago, my family was in a difficult spot. My son had severe dyslexia, a learning disability that made keeping up with his English almost impossible. His teachers cared about him and they did the best they could, but the school just was not prepared to deal with his needs. He started falling through the cracks.
