Some NH communities on alert after EEE detected in Massachusetts

New Hampshire health officials are alerting some towns in southern New Hampshire that a potentially deadly mosquito-borne disease was discovered across the border in Massachusetts.
Officials said Eastern equine encephalitis was found in a horse in Methuen, Massachusetts. The discovery raised the risk of EEE to critical in Methuen. Neighboring communities, such as Pelham and Salem in New Hampshire, have been notified.
