The total number of New Hampshire bankruptcy filings in July was flat compared to last year, but total bankruptcies are still up for the year compared to 2018.
Month to month, bankruptcy filings are still volatile. Some 154 households and businesses filed for protection in July, 14 more than in June, which was down 43 from May. But only two more filed than July 2018, and the total was just one short of the monthly average of 155 so far for 2019. That average, though, is the highest of any year since 2015, and 6% higher than in 2018.
