The Environmental Protection Agency agreed with the Air Force’s conclusion that remedies selected for the former Pease Air Force Base “have been implemented and are currently protective of human health and the environment.”

“EPA also concurs that important follow-up actions identified in the five-year review that are necessary to maintain long-term protectiveness at the site will be implemented by the U.S. Air Force,” Bryan Olson, the EPA’s director of Superfund & Emergency Management Division, said in a Sept. 25 letter to an Air Force official.
