Child advocate asks who should have been monitoring Granite Pathways

The state’s child advocate on Tuesday was roundly critical of an obvious lack of oversight of Granite Pathways’ youth treatment center in Manchester, which the state cut ties with earlier this month.
After five suspected overdoses and seven hospitalizations at the state-funded youth drug treatment facility last month, the child advocate asked whether Granite Pathways had the ability to care for the children placed there — and whose responsibility it was to make sure the organization was capable of taking on complicated cases.
