BAE Systems gets $2.7B to build kits that make cheap rockets precision missiles

BAE Systems has been awarded a nearly $2.7 billion contract to produce its Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System II.

According to a notice from the Department of Defense, the $2,684,650,000 contract includes upgrading the rocket system to a “semi-active laser guided precision weapon to support Navy, Army, Air Force and foreign military sales requirements to include the governments of Iraq, Lebanon, Netherlands, Jordan, Afghanistan, United Kingdom, Tunisia, Philippines and Australia.”
