A young man whom prosecutors sought to imprison for years over remarks about bringing a gun to his high school graduation walked out of Hillsborough County Superior Court on Thursday, cleared of all charges.
John Thomas, 18, spent eight months in Valley Street jail awaiting trial. He was accused of threatening to shoot up his high school graduation last year and encouraging others to do so.
After a jury found him not guilty of all charges, the relief was palpable as Thomas spoke after the verdict.
