Town Councilors voted unanimously Monday night to send a letter to the governor and Democratic lawmakers to “compromise” and end the state budget impasse.
The letter, addressed to Gov. Chris Sununu, Senate President Donna Soucy and House Speaker Stephen Shurtleff, expressed the council’s frustration about education and retirement costs over the years, and called on all parties to work together to end the impasse.
Councilors say in the letter that they understand a disagreement exists on whether the proposed budget produces a structural deficit.
