An aldermanic committee has voted to recommend a question be placed on the ballot in November asking voters if they want to keep the city’s tax cap in place.

The Aldermanic Committee on Administration/Information Systems voted Tuesday 4-1 to recommend City Clerk Matt Normand draft a question to be placed on the November ballot regarding the future of the tax cap. Alderman-at-Large Joe Kelly Levasseur was the lone dissenting vote.

Alderman Chris Herbert of Ward 4 said he believes the time has come to put the issue of a tax cap before voters again.
